I'm a big fan of putting your money where your enthusiasms are, when possible.
And lately, my enthusiasms seem to be running to British Actors. Particularly Sam West, as everyone has doubtless noticed by now, but lots of others, too.
I'm almost as big a fan of Equity as I am of Sam, myself. Performers provide us with a lot of joy and they deserve to make a decent living, in acceptable working conditions, and have something for the times when they can't work.
They also do a whole lot of work for free, for good causes.
So. This is Equity's yearly appeal, started last year, for groups which support performers and their dependants when they need it:
Acting For Others
I started a rather more, errrrr... Sam-centric thread over on Samuel Daily, cause I'm crazy like that but hey, spreading the news is a good thing.
Therefore, I propose the following:
Drop a comment if you're in, if you like.
Post a link to this post where appropriate, if you care to.
And send money orders or whatever in British funds (GBP) to Equity UK's Mailing address,
Acting for Others
c/o Actor's Equity

Upper St Martins Lane

WC2H 9EG
or via the agent/business address of your favourite actor or actress if you want to let them know you're doing it, or whatever. They SO need to make this easier for next year, but there it is for now...
Artists of all kinds are insanely vulnerable to misfortune and financial ruin if they cannot work for awhile, and Fandom Means Not Letting The People We Love Starve.
So, yeah. I'll still feed them when they're 64. :-)
