Rupert's Land!
Jun. 7th, 2005 02:23 pmI have squeed before about the wonder that is Rupert's Land.

Samuel West. Ian Tracey (Da Vinci's Inquest). George Wendt (Cheers).
Canadian Road Trip movie. Set on the Sunshine Coast. Brilliant depiction of screwed-up family dynamics and of culture-clash, and a sharp and loving portrayal of a culture like none other.
But it was a slightly sad squee, because it has been out of print for some time, and was very hard to find, as I know from various Sam fans.
So a month ago, I took my little stock of courage in both hands and emailed the director, Jonathan Tammuz, and asked him about the possibility of a DVD release, some time in the future.
And he emailed me back, and I emailed him back, and the upshot is this:
Mr Tammuz has undertaken to ensure that anyone who wants to buy copies will get them.
I have undertaken to collect the orders for it.
black_hound put together a gorgeous webpage design, and
iclysdale made it into a webpage.
This is not yet an order form: Mr Tammuz needs to know how many copies we're talking about in order to get proper pricing and delivery date estimates from the various possible distributors.
However, if you tell us you want a copy, you will get one.
I waited to post this until I could say that.

Please make sure you go to the webpage and fill out the form; lj comments are great for questions, etc, but we really really need to have you in the database.
You will be provided with a firm price and shipping date before you are asked to commit to an order.
Please repost freely where appropriate. God knows I'm going to. :-)
(apologies in advance to anyone who sees this several times; crossposted to
samuel_daily,
article_xxix, and my own journal. Oh, and please feel free to use the icon, if you wish.)
