1) Please stop assuming, and organising the universe around the assumption, that "the hand and arm strength and mobility of an able-bodied medium-sized adult male" is part of the definition of "adult".
Because I am tired of living in a child-proof (There is a REASON I need fast access to the anti-inflammatories, people!), raccoon-proof (Green Bin designers, I'm looking at YOU) woman-proof (Hey, it's a power tool, it's TOTALLY reasonable to make the safety switch operate on brute strength and handspan, because nobody EVER uses a power tool to compensate for not being able to easily use, say, a manual screwdriver, right?) obstacle course.
As this is, clearly, too much trouble, please, at least,
2) when an obviously adult female tells you that X, Y or Z is not safe or possible for her hands, make reasonable accommodations and refrain from being condescending, and/or
3) when said obviously adult female does not have the time or spoons for that and hurts herself doing a necessary task, do NOT say 'why didn't you ask for help?' I have no hands, BUT I CAN SPIT.
Not very much love,
Me.
