As long as you're pissed off ANYWAY...
Nov. 4th, 2010 12:44 amYou know what's really vile, appalling, disgusting, intolerable, and shameful?
The fact that if Fiction Alley is competing for a grant against against projects that will save and improve lives for impoverished, disadvantaged, and marginalised women, children, men, and others, they are doing so because the lying, snivelling, profit-eating, banker-whipped, bottom-line-fellating, slab-sided quisling sons-of-bitches who have taken over the affairs of the nearly every major economic machine on this planet have decided that if hungry children really, truly deserve to be fed, clothed, warmed, educated, and given access to cultural product, much less the means of cultural production, they will have to prove their worthiness by begging and scratching for the votes of the 'click till something fun happens' bloc on the website of a supercorporation.
I don't care one way or another about FA, to be honest. If you do, if you think this is an unforgiveable action they have taken? Post about it, by all means. Then vote against them.
Then pay your damn taxes and contact your political representatives about where those taxes go.
Because, really: nothing very much more important than Fiction Alley should be up for grants handed out the way these are. Starving children up for votes in a popularity contest, trying to be cuter than disabled vets? I think I've read something set in that dystopia.
