Off to Ye Pubbe tonight with [livejournal.com profile] fajrdrako and Alayne, and then to The Bytowne Cinema to see In Search of Mozart, with Sam West as the voice of Mozart.

Recommended to Sam fans, Mozart fans, classical music fans, and documentary fans; it really was quite fabulous. And surprisingly well-attended; it was really well-worth seeing it in a group and on a big screen, just for the really rather pleasant movie watching experience that is seeing a good movie in the midst of a supremely well-behaved and deeply interested crowd. I need to go to the Bytowne more; good films, no endless trailers (NO trailers. Also no advertisments), pleasant crowds, reasonable prices, real butter on the popcorn... it's a Good Thing.

Not to mention the mass laughter at the end, when appeared writ across the screen in what I can only describe as a very plain yet somehow snarky font:

"He was not poisoned.
Nor did he die a pauper"

And so to bed; you know, trying to get back on a decent schedule and have a social life is really cutting into my ... social life.

I'm glad someone else laughed at that text on the screen. No-one in Canberra laughed at that at all, the lumps.

I really really liked the voice acting in that movie. I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't stay for the credits, so I didn't realise Mr West had done that part. It was fab.
