I love you, but the world's not changed

(Confidential to [livejournal.com profile] iclysdale):

"... You force me to tell you
The disastrous truth. I love you. A misadventure
So intolerable, hell could not do more.
Nothing in the world could touch me
And you have to come and be the damnable
Exception. I was nicely tucked up for the night
Of eternity, and like a restless dream
Of a fool's paradise, you, with a rainbow where
Your face is and an ignis fatuus
Worn like a rose in your girdle, come pursued
By fire, and presto! the bedclothes are on the floor..."

The Lady's Not For Burning, Christopher Fry, Act III.

Aww, that is lovely.

Nice, but of course you've noticed, not entirely confidential. ;)

By the way - love the icon. I do notice the slight mispelng: you have "women" spelled as "men".

Cheers

The most wonderful script in the world! Once in our second-hand bookstore a box of old books came in and someone going through the box picked up Lady and waved it without even opening it, and everyone began shouting their favorite lines.

A castle drafty as a tree!
A longitude without a platitude!

And an improvement someone in a local amateur theatre accidentally made when he forgot the line:
"To make the place we're lost in look as much like wherever it is as we can."
