First of all: Marlowe strikes me as the type whose ghost would be really really pissed chronically, just in general. ;)
Secondly: The reviews I saw of the Chichester Faustus may have been mixed, but I still wanted to see it. Even if I would undoubtedly have passed out during the Helen of Troy scene and missed the ending, which is the really good part.
I mean, I think "in wanton Arethusa's azured arms" is the sexiest single line in English literature even when Sam West isn't saying it...

The Liverpool Faustus is very good.I'm so pleased I got to see it. One of my favourite lines in that production is "What would thou hast me do Faustus?" because of how it's delivered by Jamie Bamber-with blatant sexuality and come hitherness.
