Use of the phrase "Mr John Smith and family" is in most circs. a sort of quaint, charming, mostly harmless relic of the patriarchy. I am beginning to loathe it with a burning fire in my gut.

WHAT ARE THEIR NAMES, DAMN YOU ALL? HOW MANY ARE THERE? HOW OLD ARE THEY?

And, lest you all think my relative lack of rantage means I am not feeling especially angry or bitter:

Richard Shindell, You stay here, Lyrics and link to listen

I'll post a happier song later. I promise.

Thanks much for this!

I used to think managing a teen-pen pal program made for painful data-entry. This is so...

Source: b13birddog (no name, no location, no phone, not even the fargin' e-mail.)

Content: Mary Sue? Where are you sweetheart, we're worried about you!

And I have a national phone directory at my fingertips that lets me create custom searches.

All I need is just one. data. point.

I wish the chunks were smaller. I can't get more than 20-30 min. to concentrate at the computer unless the BunnyBright is unconscious.

Which means I get FREQUENT breaks. You must be going out of your gourd.

*pets*

Oh yeah. Those.

Clarion was small chunks, but they are gone.

I think I went spare some time back; Alayne just dragged me out for pho, though, and Ian made me go swim earlier, which helped.

I'm on google, google maps, and zip code look up. It serves. Sort of.

I use yahoo- maps as well - it does fuzzy searching for me - the phone database is pretty hard-assed.

Yes, I do. It's *totally customizable* For example: The number you gave (for example) goes to:

Jamie Burdan
LANCASTER, CA 93534-3302

Many public libraries subscribe to this service
http://www.referenceusa.com/index2.asp?si=46514345874814

If your doesn't, send me mail and I'll do something about that.

I deduce, by the way, that you are on a Yahoo chunk.

God, they are grotty.

I couldn't aree more. Well, I don't just begin to loathe it, I have loathed it ever since I had contact with the UK. This sort of disgustingly patriarchal form of address has not been used in germany anymore for ages. Let's just say, there are reasons while I am still MISS and have serious ponderings if I do or do not marry Mr Marquesate and sure as heck would never change my name.

Pathetic.

We visisted his sister up in Scotland and what was on their family door? You got it, the Husband's surname (which she had taken) and HIS FIRST NAME. Pee'ed me off straidht away, as if she didn't exist. Not with me, no. I rather am a Teutonic anomaly. ;-)

Well, since then I have had three "Jane Smith and family" entries in a row, so I may have to rethink this rant sometime.

Sometime when I am awake.

I don't mind what people want to do normally, but if you're looking for people?

Well, there you go, seems that UK is even more backwards, then. never heard the female "and family" bit. Oh well.
