Way to stay on message with the "do not provoke rumours of secret agendas and undergrounds ties to the US Right" dealie, bud.

Harper must be sh*tting a brick right now. Sideways.

The pessimistic view was that Harper, lacking a parliamentary majority, can do little to make Canadians "adopt a more reasonable view of the United States" and abandon Marxist principles "such as same-sex marriage and abortion on demand," Weyrich says.

He does not say how these things are linked in his mind to Marxism, a doctrine better known for concepts of class warfare.

I just... I love the CBC some days.

Gee, I didn't know Marx was a proponent of same-sex marriage and abortion on demand! I thought he was more the "the people should own the factories they work in" sort.

Silly me!

Didn't you know? Owning the means of production!! Manifesto for abortion if I ever heard one.

And we all know that a decadent middle class leads to such disgusting things as homosexuality, and in fact, sex in general. Sex which doesn't make new workers!

...oh bugger, I got my Stalinists mixed in there somehow. Oops.

Owning the means of production!!

Of course!

Sex that doesn't produce new workers!

So, the whole homosexual marriage fight is really an underhanded way of encouraging the decadent middle class not to breed?

*slaps forehead* It's all so clear to me now! How could I have missed that? I obviously need to read that Liberal-Marxist-Hedonist newsletter [livejournal.com profile] commodorified signed me up for more closely.

I suspect this is similar to the "immigrants are taking our jobs AND sponging off our welfare" rant one occasionally hears, or perhaps more like the "feminists are ugly man-hating dykes AND evil slutty hedonists encouraging other women to use birth control" paradox.....

Although a platform of Hedonistic Marxism would bring in the "If I can't dance , I don't want to be part of your revolution," vote.

Canadian voters are clearly more perceptive than American voters.

Well, we all know just who can kiss my 'Liberal', Hedonistic, Marxist Royal Canadian Arse, don't we?

I really fail to see why you would make that offer to such an obvious jerk when you haven't even made it to, you know. Any more deserving persons who happen to be about. Your ass is too good for the likes of Paul Weyrich, damn it.

It's a damn good thing we have gun control (until Harper gets rid of that, of course) because if I had ready access to a firearm, I might just succumb to the hedonistic temptation of liberally peppering Mr Weyrich with bullets.

That article is so hilarious and so teeth-grindingly irritating at the same time. And I almost feel sorry for Sociopathic Halibut, being associated with this moron less than a week into his job. Almost.

*snicker*

But it's still kind of disturbing that most of the "right-wing" parties in the English-speaking world are more left-wing than the US "left-wing". *sigh* Although the Australian Liberal coalition seem to be doing their best to catch up. At least the UK Tories appear to have decided it's a losing game.

His contribution to the Harper election effort was to distribute an e-mail last week urging fellow U.S. right-wingers not to talk to Canadian reporters.

"Canadian voters have been led to believe that American conservatives are scary and if the Conservative party can be linked with us, they can perhaps diminish a Conservative victory," he warned.

Dude. Did he, or did he not, just basically admit that you hedonistic furriners are right, and he and his cronies are scary, and thus should HIDE FROM CANADA until you are fooled into electing a conservative govt?

That's what I thought.

Yeah, well, Washington state *finally*, after *twenty-nine* years, managed, by one legislative vote, to pass a gay anti-discrimination law.

What I'm not quite sure I understand is how people can construe this as an attack against Christianity (this is a mostly facetious and entirely rhetorical question, BTW).
